The main surgical procedures sought by men are:
Rhinoplasty
- is the aesthetic surgery of the nose. It is often performed in conjunction with functional treatments of the nose to improve breathing, such as septoplasty (correction of deviated septum) and turbinectomy. Due to this association, it is the most common plastic surgery performed on men, especially in adolescents and young adults.
Blepharoplasty
- is surgery to treat excess skin on the eyelids and periorbital fat. Young patients complain more about increased periorbital fat, which presents as a more tired face, especially when the patient wakes up or is more tired. Over time, there is an increase in the amount of skin on the eyelids, even hindering vision, and the need for surgery ceases to be merely aesthetic.
Gynecomastia
- is the enlargement of breast tissue and accumulation of fat in the breasts of men. It is a condition that interferes with the patient's self-esteem, self-confidence, and body image. It has a higher incidence peak in adolescence and young adulthood, and can also occur in andropause (older patients). The treatment aims not only to improve body contour but also all the psychological aspects involved.
Liposuction
- is a surgery that has shown significant growth among the male public, especially for the treatment of localized fat accumulation. The main area sought for treatment is the abdomen, which does not improve even with a good diet and physical exercise.
Rhytidectomy
- or facelift for patients with signs of aging on the face. They present with displacement of malar fat, sagging, and excess skin on the face. In addition to fat accumulation under the chin, tissue accumulation in the cervical region (double chin), wrinkles, and increased creases in the mid-face, especially along the nose to the corner of the mouth.
Hair transplant
- This is the proposed surgery for patients with baldness and hair loss who have not responded to clinical treatment. Primarily sought by men at their professional peak, involving self-esteem and confidence in their daily lives.
Otoplasty
- is the procedure for treating prominent ears. It is highly sought after by parents of patients aged approximately 5 to 7 years, at the beginning of school age. Also by adults who also have prominent ears and did not have the opportunity to treat them in childhood.
