Abdominoplasty or Abdominal Dermolipectomy
- It consists of an aesthetic treatment of the abdomen, mainly with the removal of excess skin and fat.
Classic Abdominoplasty:
- It is the most common procedure to treat excess skin and fat below the navel, and the scar can be made in the same position as a C-section scar, but with a much greater extent.
Anchor Abdominoplasty:
- It is a surgical option for patients who have experienced significant weight loss, either through diet or bariatric surgery, resulting in both vertical and horizontal scars, in the shape of an anchor.
There is also inverted abdominoplasty or reverse abdominoplasty
It is a surgical option for some cases with excess skin above the navel.
Mini-abdominoplasty:
- Classic:
- The "mini" aspect refers only to a slightly shorter incision than a classic abdominoplasty. It corrects diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscle along its entire length and repositions the umbilical scar slightly below its original location.
- Partial:
- Corrects only the excess skin below the navel, without repositioning it.
Lipoabdominoplasty:
- It is the combination of abdominal liposuction and abdominoplasty.
Many patients ask about the navel. What happens to the navel?
There are techniques that preserve the existing navel and reinsert it into the new abdomen, leaving a scar at this junction.
Just as there are techniques where a new navel is reconstructed, and depending on the case, it may even be possible to leave no scar.
