Indeed, mammary hypertrophy, or large-volume breasts,  affects a large part of the population. Besides harming the spine due to inadequate posture, it can also lead to skin conditions like dermatitis from excessive sweating in the breast fold, as well as general discomfort and loss of self-esteem.

WHEN SHOULD THE SURGERY BE PERFORMED?

There is no age limit, as it can occur in girls in early adolescence, but attempts are made to postpone it a bit so that growth does not interfere with the result and require future procedures.

WHERE ARE THE SCARS LOCATED?

Scars: The traditional scar is an inverted “T,” but variations may occur.

Anesthesia: Anesthesia can be general or epidural.

Hospitalization: It can be performed on a day-hospital basis with discharge on the same day, or a maximum stay of 1 day.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY LIKE?

Post-Operative / Recovery: The return to activities is progressive according to recovery, but can last from 1 to 2 months.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

Complications: bleeding, hematoma, infection, and changes in scars. Additionally, breast asymmetry may occur and it may interfere with breastfeeding.
