This is a congenital breast alteration and may be related to a family history, meaning a genetic predisposition. The breast usually takes on a cylindrical shape. Treatment varies according to the shape and volume of the breast.
Each case must be evaluated to determine the best solution: fat grafting, mammoplasty, and mastopexy with or without silicone implant placement can be performed, with hybrid periareolar mastopexy with an implant combined with fat grafting being an excellent approach for a portion of cases.
In cases of tuberous breast, since the areola is enlarged, its reduction can also be performed, and it is very important to treat the fibrous ring, releasing the fibroses.
