✍Have you heard of Poland Syndrome?
⠀
It is a failure of chest wall development – with absence or underdevelopment of the muscle called pectoralis major – and which may also involve alterations in the upper limbs (arms and hands).
⠀
👨🔬But in some cases, Poland Syndrome can be the reason for breast asymmetry in terms of shape, volume, and position.
⠀
Generally, these abnormalities do not cause health problems and do not affect movement.
⠀
For patients with Poland Syndrome with altered breast appearance, plastic surgery may be indicated to reconstruct the affected breast.🙂
