Even maintaining ideal weight, exercising daily, and adopting a healthy and balanced diet, many people cannot eliminate all fat, especially abdominal fat, and the desire to achieve a "six-pack," as a well-defined abdomen is called, seems to become increasingly distant, even discouraging the continuity of physical activity.

Technology allied with Medicine has evolved the liposuction technique to meet the needs of these patients. Various devices can be combined to refine liposuction, allowing the physician to sculpt body contours more safely and precisely, resulting in a more "athletic" appearance, with more prominent musculature, such as a defined abdomen. This is a more refined liposuction technique.

There are cannulas of various sizes, vibrating devices that assist in aspiration, and lasers with different light spectra.

In these cases, liposuction is based on the musculature, delimiting muscle transitions. The cannulas used are thinner, allowing for better sculpting of muscle contours. But be aware: this technique is not recommended for sedentary individuals, but rather for those who are already at their ideal weight but have difficulty defining muscles in the gym.

There is the 980nm (nanometer) laser, which has an affinity for blood (blood absorbs more energy generated by the laser), destroying fat and causing lipolysis, which can stimulate collagen and reduce skin laxity.

We also have the 1470nm, which has an affinity for water and can cause lipolysis, stimulate collagen in the skin, and it is still possible to preserve some fat for lipofilling. And there is also the 1210nm, whose affinity is for the tissues surrounding the fat, detaching it without causing lipolysis, allowing its use for lipofilling and also causing an effect that stimulates collagen.

In addition to the above, there is also Vaser, which is an ultrasound that detaches fat and causes lipolysis according to its configuration; it is a new device that is not yet cleared for use in Brazil.

For 100% satisfactory results, it is important for the patient to clarify all their doubts with a trusted plastic surgeon, always credentialed by the Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (SBCP).
