After undergoing the often traumatic procedure, a woman may opt for breast reconstruction surgery, which will depend mainly on the proposed surgical treatment.

When a more conservative treatment is performed, it is possible to use the remaining tissues, and, in some cases, the result obtained is similar to that of an aesthetic breast reduction or mastopexy, and the use of silicone implants may or may not be chosen.

In cases with more extensive resection of the mammary gland, it may be necessary to use a breast expander, or even perform flaps to bring tissues from the back or abdomen to reconstruct the breast or cover and protect a silicone implant.
