Accessory breast, polythelia, and polymastia are terms used to refer to breast tissue, with or without the presence of the nipple and areola, usually located along the embryonic milk line, which extends from the inguinal region to the axillary region. It is often associated with a significant fatty component.

Some women, upon noticing local enlargement, especially in the armpit area, confuse it with just excess fat. Therefore, it is essential to consult a doctor if in doubt.

In addition to causing discomfort for patients when they wear certain types of clothing, accessory breast can present pain symptoms during the menstrual period. Treatment is simple and can be done with liposuction and even direct excision.
