How to make the correct choice of Plastic Surgeon? Where to look for references? How to know if they are trustworthy? How to know if it's safe?

It is important to remember that you should base your choice of plastic surgeon on a careful evaluation of their education, experience, and track record of results. Therefore, it is advisable to verify if they are a member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (SBCP) and if they are registered with the Conselho Regional de Medicina (CRM) to ensure they meet established ethical and quality standards.

Some tips for finding your plastic surgeon:

Thus, there are some tips that can help you find a trustworthy plastic surgeon:

  1. Verify if the surgeon is a member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (SBCP) and is registered with the Conselho Regional de Medicina (CRM). This ensures that the surgeon meets established ethical and quality standards.

  2. Research the surgeon's education and experience. Then, check if they have training in plastic surgery, if they have experience with the procedure you wish to perform, and if they have specific certification for this area.

  3. Talk to other patients. Therefore, ask for references from other patients who have undergone procedures with the surgeon, and ask about their experience.

  4. Make a consultation. Therefore, schedule a consultation with the surgeon and ask about their experience, their treatment philosophy, and their success rate. Then, don't hesitate to ask questions and clarify any doubts you may have.
  5. Verify the surgical location. However, it is essential to ensure that the surgery is performed in an appropriate and safe environment, such as a hospital or surgical clinic licensed by ANVISA.

  6. Weigh your options. Then, don't feel pressured to have surgery with the first surgeon you consult. It's important to consider several options and choose the surgeon with whom you feel most comfortable and safe.
