What Blepharoplasty Corrects
- Excess skin on the upper eyelid ("droopy eye");
- Lower fat bags;
- Tired look even after rest;
- In selected cases, improvement of peripheral visual field.
Technique
Performed with local anesthesia and sedation, in a hospital setting. Incision in the natural palpebral sulcus (upper) and/or transconjunctival approach (lower), with scars practically imperceptible after 3-6 months.
Recovery
- Edema and ecchymosis for 7–14 days;
- Cold compresses for the first 48 hours;
- Return to work in 1 to 2 weeks;
- Exercise after 3 weeks.
When to Combine with Other Procedures
Frequently associated with under-eye filler, botulinum toxin and, in selected cases, frontal or endoscopic lifting.
