Doctor, I had liposuction and I'm excited to show the results of the surgery. Can I put on my bikini and run to the beach? 🤔 ⠀ In this case, my answer is: NO! ❌ ⠀ Sunlight is not compatible with the post-operative recovery period because wound healing can be compromised if the patient exposes themselves to the sun, potentially causing the following complications: ⠀ • Increased pain • Discomfort • Increased edema (swelling), and erythema (redness) • Appearance of skin spots - And, especially, INCREASED pigmentation of scars ⠀ ⠀ These precautions should be even more diligently followed by patients who undergo surgery during the summer, but also without overdoing it in the winter. I prefer that the patient avoids sun exposure for at least 6 months, during which the scar is still in the healing process. But I emphasize that as long as there is any bruising or mark in the operated area, the restriction must be more intensified. ⠀ ⠀ Sunscreen is indispensable in the post-operative period, even if not directly exposed to the sun. Therefore, my recommendation is: be patient and follow all your surgeon's recommendations so that the surgical result is the best possible. Soon, you will be able to show your soaring self-esteem to everyone. 😉 #cirurgiaplastica #cirurgiãoplastico #saude #lipoaspiração #pósoperatório #autoestima #xôlipedema #lipedema ⠀ ⠀
